Acceptance of Minutes
Minutes of the October meeting were accepted as amended to read 1970’s instead of 1998-1999.
New Business
Mike Gantick passed out the information regarding the seminar he spoke about at the last meeting. He had only one copy of the Your Family Legacy brochure but if any of us are interested, he can get more. The task force had a general discussion about this topic. Roy Normen felt most people are looking to sell. Marcia Banach said she felt the same but it was because they don’t understand the tax implications. Mike Gantick added that the ties to the land are dimishing and tax laws are constantly changing so that planning ahead is crucial.
Roy Normen is still pursuing Matt Galligan about moving the signs at Wapping Park. He would like the sign moved from the end of the lot to the front of Clark Street. We all thought it was a good idea.
The task force rated the Saunders Property. Pat Botteron will write letter to the Council. Points to be included are: not accessible to the residents, no frontage, serves to protect the Scantic River Watershed which makes it a good property for the DEP to review.
This was the first time the new review sheet was used and there were minor comments to the formatting such as adding a column for our use and adding blocks to the sections so that it would be easier to add up the sections.
Vinney Wilson will be the new representative from P&Z.
Old Business
The Nelson property is in the process of being appraised.
Herb Asplund passed on the information on grants from Councillor Hale to the Land Trust.
Other Business
Our next meeting will be January 4th.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sue W. Larsen
